Huta Laziska it is a plant in Poland specialized in production of ferroalloys – essential additives for steelmaking and foundry processes. Ferroalloys are alloys of iron with other elements, are used for degassing and deoxidising of steel and introducing alloy elements to it. Ferroalloys and other metallurgical additives determine the quality and ultimate parameters of products manufactured in steel mills. They are also used as nodularizers and inoculants for cast iron.

On 28th October 2016 the Court of Appeal in Katowice, II Criminal Division, after examining the case II AKa292/16 following the prosecutor’s appeal against the sentence of the District Court in Katowice of 15th October 2015 (V K 123/11) upheld the challenged the acquitting sentence for all 4 accused persons.
